Bishop Cedrick D. Bridgeforth appointed Rev. Blake Langston as Pastor of Homer United Methodist Church beginning July 1, 2025.Rev. Langston is an ordained elder in the Arkansas Conference, where he served at First United Methodist Church in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He brings twenty years of pastoral ministry experience to his new role. Rev. Langston's gifts in preaching, community outreach, and spiritual formation will enrich Homer UMC and the surrounding community. Rev. Langston is the spouse of Amanda Langston, a talented elementary school teacher with Master of Science degree in Education and Reading, and a passion for literacy and kindergarten. The Langstons bring their four beloved children, ages 16, 14, 12 and 9 to our connection.
Rev. Langston is a native of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and lifelong learner who is an alum of Vanderbilt University, Ouachita Baptist University, and Asbury Theological Seminary. He enjoys music, technology, hockey, hunting, fishing, camping, and woodworking. He has a heart for reaching into the community to form relationships and collaborations to expand the kingdom of God, particularly in inter-generational and inclusive ministries. At the core of his faith is the understanding that, “We are all unrepeatable miracles of God, and that God loves us, and it is not complicated.”
